Elegantly Earthy
Kris Albro
Meet the Artist
Kris Albro is a metal artist based in Southern Oregon, whose work evokes the untamed beauty of the Pacific Northwest. With a foundation in fabrication and blacksmithing, she brings a rare balance of precision and organic flow to each piece. Her sculptures—crafted from steel, copper, and fire-born patinas—reflect the movement, delicacy, and impermanence of the natural world.
Kris began Meltdown Metal Art in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2019 on the East Coast before planting roots in Oregon. Summers spent on the Rogue River and winters in the quiet of the mountains shape her artistic perspective; their colors, textures, and rhythms echo through her work like a second language.
Every stem, petal, and leaf is cut, shaped, and textured by hand—without CNC machines, without shortcuts. Her method is meditative and meticulous, inviting the viewer to slow down.
Look closer: there’s always more to find.
Her signature patinas—drawn out through heat and chemical processes—bring out the living character of metal. Layers of deep browns, shifting blues, and luminous copper tones suggest a kind of quiet aging, like tree bark or weathered stone. The result is art that feels alive: not frozen in time, but still growing.
Kris’s work is collected by those who value authenticity, craftsmanship, and the quiet power of art made by hand. Through each piece, she invites you to bring the wilderness indoors—and keep a piece of it with you.
