Standing on the edge of the river bank I took a deep breath and held it. The river urged me to follow. I thought of all the weight I had been carrying, how heavy I felt. The stress of life, the constant grind, knowing there’s so much more to be done. As I let the breath escape from my lungs and out through my lips all the weight went with it. It plunged into the water to be carried away to the ocean. Again the river encouraged me to follow, reassuring I was moving in the right direction, that I wouldn’t sink. With a heaviness lifted I allowed my heart to follow, to float with the currant to my next place of rest.
