Some of my pieces play into emotion however, this one does not. It plays into perspective. When looking at In Focus I wanted to mimic what the eye does naturally when focusing on an object. I wanted the background to fade giving the Cosmo the viewers full attention. The fluttering of the petals pulling the eyes center toward the stamens then down the stem to the foliage. Each part of the flower treated as if it were as delicate as its real counterpart. The bud representing the promise of the future. That although the flower may be at its peak, there’s so much more life still to bloom. Easily hung by a wire on the back of the piece.
