Crater Lake Lg

Copper, Steel
Size 34" x 15"
My first summer in Oregon I went to Crater Lake National Park. I hadn't been to a national park since I was a child so I didn't really know what to expect. The beauty was incredible. I got to not only swim in a crater, but I got to touch snow in August. Two things I never would have gotten to do had we not gone. As the sun went down the park had one more show for us. The lake appeared as if glitter in the setting sun, the last little bit of light and warmth bidding farewell for the night. I wanted to mimic that beauty so that the light dances off of the piece as the sun hits it.

Comes with french cleat system for easy and sturdy install.
Please be mindful edges may be sharp, keep out of reach of children.

Wish You Were Here

Copper, Steel
Size 6" x 8"
Paddle boarding the Rogue River is one of my favorite things to do. It gives me the chance to connect with nature in a unique way I hadn't experienced before. This past summer I found myself often snapping pictures and sending them back to my friends in Charleston with the tagline "I wish you were here". This is one in a series of twelve that pay homage to the river that brings me such joy. Crafted by hand, this unique series explores the movement of water and showcases the varying blues achieved through patinas. Hang alone or in a grouping to show the Rogue River journey.

Follow

Copper, Steel
Size 35.625" x 23.5"
Standing on the edge of the river bank I took a deep breath and held it. The river urged me to follow. I thought of all the weight I had been carrying, how heavy I felt. The stress of life, the constant grind, knowing there’s so much more to be done. As I let the breath escape from my lungs and out through my lips all the weight went with it. It plunged into the water to be carried away to the ocean. Again the river encouraged me to follow, reassuring I was moving in the right direction, that I wouldn’t sink. With a heaviness lifted I allowed my heart to follow, to float with the currant to my next place of rest.

Comes with french cleat system for easy and sturdy install.
Please be mindful edges may be sharp, keep out of reach of children.

Heirloom Sunflower

Copper, Steel
Size: 13.75" x 20.5"
This copper sunflower trio has two sunflowers in full bloom with a budding ready to pop. I have created steel sunflowers in the past but wanted to add more color. I decided to use copper and a chemical process to bring more reds into the petals. This gave it a summer like quality that will brighten your home. Each petal hammer and welded into place to mimic the individuality of each petal. A marbled rusted background complements the earthy tones while allowing the sunflower to shine. Edges may be sharp, use caution when hanging.

In Focus

Copper, Steel
25” x 14”

Some of my pieces play into emotion however, this one does not. It plays into perspective. When looking at In Focus I wanted to mimic what the eye does naturally when focusing on an object. I wanted the background to fade giving the Cosmo the viewers full attention. The fluttering of the petals pulling the eyes center toward the stamens then down the stem to the foliage. Each part of the flower treated as if it were as delicate as its real counterpart. The bud representing the promise of the future. That although the flower may be at its peak, there’s so much more life still to bloom. Easily hung by a wire on the back of the piece.

May 12

Copper, Steel
43" x 33.5"
At some point in my life I looked in the mirror and all I saw was exhaustion. I recognized that I had been showing up for everyone except myself. For so many years I had tried to be perfect and failed time and time again. Wear designer, watch what I said, dilute who I was to make it palatable for others. I did it until I couldn’t any longer. The mascara ran, the heels hurt, and I couldn’t sit still. I was a dandelion growing among the roses. Overlooked and out of place. So I decided to grow my own way. I strengthened my roots of who I was and allowed myself to let go of everything that held me back. I no longer looked in the mirror and saw someone else. I saw me, blooming into something I recognized, something I admired.

This piece helped me take a look at what has created me. A dandelion, one of the more overlooked flowers except for the few that cherish it. The first and last food for our pollinators. The earth mover for when the soil is too compact for more delicate roots. The celebration of misfit, the misunderstood, the unassumingly strong.

Created by hand without computer assistance or colored paint.

Season's Start

Copper, Steel
Size 32" x 23.5"
Last year my husband and I were driving from Idaho after one of my largest festivals yet. As we followed the Malheur River home, we were waved on by thousands of prairie sunflowers. We pulled off to stretch our legs and I couldn't help but take the opportunity to snap a photo. Delighted with it haphazard stem and free flowing petals it was a beautiful contrast to the sunflowers more well known image. With this piece it signals the start of a new season of creating. Mixing welding, fabrication, blacksmithing and chasing/repousse, I was able to maintain its natural realism while keeping a simple but polished look.

Comes with french cleat system for easy and sturdy install.
Please be mindful edges may be sharp, keep out of reach of children.

December 11

Copper, Steel
size 12" x 15"
The medium size of the December series with the same drama as its larger counterpart. When creating the medium version of December is was important to me to maintain the contrast of the orange dusk sky against the dark orchard. It gives a moodiness to winter that I didn't want lost in the smaller size. As the light changes in your house so will this piece. The copper background will almost glow against the dark mountains giving it the illusion the sun has just set. The trees resting against a marbled rusted background, dormant waiting for spring.
