December
Steel
Size 4.5" x 8"
1 of 3
The smallest of the December series, but just as moody. I pulled my favorite element of December and showcased it in a simple frame. Each tree is meticulously welded together using three different sized round rod. Each textured and bent into place to give it a lifelike quality. perfect for the smaller spots in your home or as part of a cluster. Because each is hand made there may be slight variations to each piece.

Heirloom Sunflower
Copper, Steel
Size: 13.75" x 20.5"
This copper sunflower trio has two sunflowers in full bloom with a budding ready to pop. I have created steel sunflowers in the past but wanted to add more color. I decided to use copper and a chemical process to bring more reds into the petals. This gave it a summer like quality that will brighten your home. Each petal hammer and welded into place to mimic the individuality of each petal. A marbled rusted background complements the earthy tones while allowing the sunflower to shine. Edges may be sharp, use caution when hanging.

June
Copper, Steel
Size: 6" x 11.5"
1 of 3
The smallest of the June series takes the simplistic approach again, highlighting only the poppy. Boasting an electric blue background, the color of the petals pop forward. Paying attention to the detail on the small poppy, leaves the viewer finding new details with every look. Perfect for those smaller spots on your wall, or hang part of a cluster. Because each is made by hand, expect slight variations with each one.

December 11
Copper, Steel
size 12" x 15"
The medium size of the December series with the same drama as its larger counterpart. When creating the medium version of December is was important to me to maintain the contrast of the orange dusk sky against the dark orchard. It gives a moodiness to winter that I didn't want lost in the smaller size. As the light changes in your house so will this piece. The copper background will almost glow against the dark mountains giving it the illusion the sun has just set. The trees resting against a marbled rusted background, dormant waiting for spring.

June 8
Copper, Steel
Size: 15" x 12"
The medium size of the June series. With the two medium pieces in the series I wanted to draw in all the different elements of the field. I wanted to capture what the field felt like from a bees perspective. Colorful, full of life, a bit of chaos. I knew texture and color would play a large part in the series, so I challenged myself to see how many colors I could develop through different chemical methods. The reds of the poppies, browns of the earth and dying grasses, even the deep blues from that spring sky. All play a part in telling the story of the day spent in that field. I created the June series in hopes you too could bring home a piece of that warm day.
June 9
Copper, Steel
Size 29" x 40.5"
Early June in the Applegate Valley in Oregon is magical. The flowers burst forward against the fading deep green of winter as if to wish the cold a final farewell. I found myself in a field of poppies at Troon Vineyard. I was memorized as these large paper thin flowers bobbed and teetered on their long thin stems. Dancing in the breeze with a fragility that can only be appreciated if you leave the flower untouched. The poppy warns "do not pick me, for I will wither away". Perhaps that's why I hold this bloom dear. A temperamental flower that refuses to look beautiful anywhere except where it chose to root.
I wanted the personality of the poppy to shine through in this piece. Using a thicker gauge copper, I was able to mimic the paper like petals through forging out each section to give it a lightness. In order to keep it feeling organic, movement and texture were ver important. By using chemical reactions rather than paint I was able to preserve even the thinnest marks. Created using my own photography and no computer assistance, this piece is truly an original.

December 15
Copper, Steel
Size 35.5" x 30.5"
Driving through Independence Or one evening I was hit with inspiration. At dusk the sky turned bright orange and the landscape around it turned to shadow. A feeling of calm washed over me as we drove along the country roads weaving through the orchards. Each tree black against the sky. I knew I wanted to recreate the feeling. In recreating the feeling I also knew the sky had to glow orange. It had to give the feeling the light was coming from just beyond the mountains. I spent a lot of time making sure the shadow effect was coming through. I sanded the background so that when the light reflects it give this circular pattern as if mimicking the sun. I created this piece after such an amazing weekend. One that brought my path so much confirmation. I hope this piece finds you calm and gives that feeling for driving in the countryside.

Reaching
Copper, Steel
Size 28" x 23.5"
The side of a rocky mountain doesn't seem the place for a bush. Clinging to a rock reaching past the shadow for sunlight. But yet, that is exactly what I saw driving through the Cascades. Every new day greeted with hope and a renewed sense of belonging. The bush provides shade to the grasses and wildflowers that grow beneath it allowing them to flourish during the hot dry summers. The roots stability to the little soil that remains when the rains come in the winter. Every person, every thing has its place and purpose but you can never stop reaching for it. Although it may be just out of grasp, tomorrow brings new growth and new opportunities within reach. The branches and mountain side made of steel. The leaves, grasses, and background created from copper. The background having a blued patina, while the leaves heat treated giving it the hues of pinks and reds, every part welded meticulously into place. Please keep out of the reach of children.

Growth
Copper, Steel
Size 20" x 20"
Driving through Colorado I was struck by these sunflowers all through the city. They weren't growing in a field or in someones well manicured yard, they were growing through the cracks in the cement by the highway. These beautiful sunflowers refused to be defined by where their seeds fell. Regardless they grew and blossomed. I knew I needed to create them, I knew in a way they represented us all. "Growth" was created completely by hand. Each petal was cut, cleaned, hammered and welded into place. The background is hammered copper. 1 of 1, this special piece is easily hung on any wall using an anchor. Please keep out of the reach of children.

Williams Highway
Steel, Copper, Silicon Bronze
Size 12" x 12"
I drive Williams Highway everyday on my way to my shop. It a winding road through the country, passing old barns, rivers and the occasional dear. Blackberries twist and cover old farm fencing while black trees reach from the fog. It is my favorite because as you come around the bend just after Pennington Farms, if you're lucky, you will get to see the clouds entangled in the dark mountains. The clouds peeking out between the mountains as if to be waking for the day. Every time I come around that bend it brings a calm over me. Knowing I heading right where I want to be, the mountain forests. This piece pays homage to that morning commute.

Copper Trillium
Copper, Steel
Size 13.75" x 7"
The trillium is a native flower of Southern Oregon. Known for it bright white petal and large leaves. When I came upon my first one I was intrigued by the contrast of the snow white against deep green. Because I don't use paint I wanted to capture the feel of the dramatic color in another way. I decided to create a completely copper trillium. Treated with heat and shocked in water I was able to create intense color that would reflect the same drama. Please keep out of the reach of children.

Mini Madrone
Copper, steel, silicone bronze
Size 4” x 3.5”
Hiking through the forest behind the shop you can’t escape the embrace of the madrone. A tree I’ve likened to my protector. As I walk past one tree they pass the duties of keeping me safe to the next. Felt as a breeze melting the hold that society has on me. For the madrone's aren’t protecting me from creatures, they’re protecting my sanity. The way they twist and turn captured with wire as small as 1/16” TIG welded to preserve the smoothness of the tree. Each leaf melted, hammered, and TIG welded to each tip of the branch. Not all masterpieces must be large for this one speaks volumes tiny. Please keep out of the reach of children.
